John Patton General What was the reason to derate the b40-8 to 2000 horsepower? I moeled this loomotive as it was BEFORE it was derated! GRRRRR 7/17/2013 4:31:26 AM
Donnie Strickland General It's a fuel-saving measure. CSX just doesn't need 4000 hp in these 4-axle locomotives. They require 4-axle units on this local, though (A734/A735), because it operates on a lot of trackage where six-axle units are not allowed. 7/17/2013 8:22:47 AM
